Boys and Girls Aid of Oregon provides Safe Place for youth in Washington County. Safe Place provides shelter and a variety of other services to youth up to age 19 who are homeless or at risk of being homeless due to instability in their own homes. Safe Place is staffed day and night with trained, caring adults. Initially, youth’s basic needs are met (meals, a bed, clothing, showers), then, together with a case manager, each youth develops an individualized plan for the future that may include counseling, educational guidance, and skill building activities. If you are in Washington County and need a safe place to go, you can simply show up. Safe Place is located at 454 SE Washington Street in Hillsboro, Oregon. See map. (One block east of Hillsboro Transit Center on Washington Street. Available by Tri-Met bus #57, or "Central Hillsboro" MAX stop at Washington and 3rd Avenue.)
