Note: If you are still in the custody and care of DHS, you may contact your DHS worker to see if you are eligible for ILP services. If you have already exited the system before the age of 21, you will need to go to your local DHS child welfare office and request "voluntary services". For a list of office locations, click here. If you qualify for ILP services in Washington, Clackamas, or Multnomah County, you may become involved in the My Life program. The goal of My Life is to help youth successfully transition into adulthood. Their method involves teaching and supporting self-determination skills that include how to set goals, solve problems, stay on track, and build connections with adults. Self-determination is “the drive and confidence to take charge of your life and work towards your goals”.
