The Powerhouse mentoring program provides services to youth age 13-21 that are living in foster care in Multnomah County, Oregon. They also serve youth in Hood River and Wasco counties through an affiliate program called Mentor For Success. Their mission is to provide community-based mentoring to youth in foster care in order to enhance successful transition from adolescence to adulthood. Mentors and mentees commit to spending approximately 10 hours per month together for at least a year, doing things that they both enjoy. If you think you would like to have a mentor, you’ll need a referral from your DHS caseworker. If you have questions, email Powerhouse -- udosedal@theinnhome.org or Mentor For Success -- info@mentor4success.orgYou can also visit www.powerhouseprogram.org/just-for-teens.html or www.mentor4success.org/ for more information.
