Each fall, the Stand for Children Leadership Center awards $10,000 scholarships toward higher education ($2,500 per year, renewable for four years) to Oregon public high school seniors who have "Beat the Odds" by succeeding in school despite overwhelming obstacles, such as poverty, homelessness, disability, or personal tragedy. Students must have demonstrated financial need, and volunteered or participated in activities that were helpful to others. So many jobs today require a college degree. See if the Beat the Odds Scholarship Program can help you: stand.org/oregon/beat-the-odds
